Tasty vanilla kipper

Just before a little more than a Christmas cookies recipe that you can bake in a jiffy: Vanillekipferl. Everyone really gets it.

Classic vanilla kipferl are just part of Christmas. Meanwhile, you can even buy vanilla kipper plates, I recently saw with astonishment in the city. But do not worry, it works without … well even! Here comes the recipe!

That’s what you need for the Vanillekipferl

  • 400 grams of flour
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 100 grams of powdered sugar
  • 4 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg

For dusting

  • Powdered sugar and vanilla sugar

Vanillekipferl – That’s how it works

The easiest way to knead the dough is to let the butter warm slightly at room temperature. So she gets out of the fridge a few hours before you start to bake. Then it goes very fast. Put the flour in a bowl and cut the butter into small pieces that you can spread in the flour. Powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and egg and then knead quickly to a dough. Form a big ball, wrap it in cling film and then put it in the fridge for one hour. In time, you can simply bake another cookie variety or relax your feet.

Just before the wait is over, turn on the oven. At 160 degrees. Distribute baking paper on two baking trays. Then remove the dough from the fridge and make into a croissant. I always dab some dough off the ball, roll a mini ball between the palms, then make a sausage out of it and put it in a croissant shape on the plate. Repeat this until the sheet is full. Then put in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Depending on how much power your oven has. Just watch a bit and take the vanilla flakes out of the oven at the desired browning level. Mix icing sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl and put the vanilla kipper into it while they are still warm! And done!

Let them taste you,
